Vegan Alfredo Pasta Sauce
Who says you can’t have your favorite comfort food and “veganize” it? Theres so many different ways to make healthier versions of those foods you love – and they still taste delicious and give you that satisfaction you’re looking for. The other night I was craving something hearty and filling, which I guess is what we all crave during these cold winter months.
This dairy free Alfredo sauce is a favorite in our home! It’s super easy to make and you only need a few ingredients and 10 minutes of your time. Pair it with your favorite pasta and veggies of your choice (I almost always use broccoli with pasta dishes).
- 1/2 Block Extra Firm Tofu
- 1/2 Cup Low Sodium Vegetable Broth
- 2 Tbsp Dairy Free Butter (Earth Balance)
- 2 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast (Optional)
- 2 Tsp Basil
- 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
- Salt & Pepper (To Taste)
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth
To make the sauce thinner, just add 1 tablespoon of water at a time until you reach your desired consistency
Put sauce on the stove over low-medium heat until warm
Serve over your choice of pasta and vegetables
